The thin line between good & evil , right & wrong
Couple of days back as I was reading the papers like I always do , an article caught my attention . It was an article about a 40-something year old woman who got sentenced to jail for impersonating an Attorney General and commiting fraud close to RM 500K on a doctor . Ok , it doesn't sound impossible right ? what caught my attention were the reason why she did the whole thing . She was cornered with problems from every angle . Her husband owes a couple of loan sharks a huge sum of money , her 6 kids struggling to buy books and study expenses , an ailing mother and other things . It got me thinking , " Technically , what shes doing is wrong according to the law , but is she really wrong to at least DO something to help ease her burdens ?" . " The husband doesn't seem to bother , relatives are no where in sight and how much would you think an NGO body can help if there is any ? Banks ? don't be ridiculous .. "
Amazing how tragic circumstances can motivate someone to actually choose the wrong path in order to survive . This is simply because there were no proper ways of doing it . Which is why I think nowadays , being good / evil is just a word where society would place us in , just to make things a lot clearer . The thing is , the line between being good/evil seems blurred now you know . You always hear stories of police officers , supposedly noble law enforcers , taking bribes from organized crime simply because one of their kids need money to study abroad... or even 'staging' drug raids in clubs just to get extra money from spoilt , rich kids' parents to bail them out ? . Or underworld crime figures doing charity and helping out the needy simply because the government aren't doing enough to help these under-privileged people ? I don't think its a thin line anymore you know .. just a blurred line .. you'd think its there ..but its not .
People do what they have to do for one simple goal : to survive . What IS right and what IS wrong nowadays ? Its a common goal . Which side are you on ? the good guys or the bad guys ?
