Special Report : Melaka Road Trip , 14th - 15th January 2006

Ok , I went on a road trip to Melaka with Stella Mella , 'Amber' a.k.a Tuan Puteri and Liang Kor . Retired , F1 driver Stella was our designated driver , workshop leader & tourguide for the trip . I got to know bout this workshop when I was pitched by the workshop leader herself to come to her program . How often does a speaker pitches you , picks u up , drives you around and sends you back ? I haven't experienced such a thing , boy it was fun :D

But someone complained about the smell of the car , saying it was too smelly for her standards . It was this grumpy little girl down here :

Scary looking isn't it ? Don't be fooled by the innocent , soft colours of pink and white . She's got scorpion-like 'cubitan's and likes to cabut my furry yet lovely bulu tangan . Now all that is left on my tangan are patches of hair here and there , thanx to this girl . I guess the hairs resembled the sawah padi back in Kedah , so shes used to 'cabut'-ing the padi .

So we got to the Emperor Hotel , where me and Liang Kor checked in . As we enter the room , suddenly in split second , I see the workshop leader and tuan puteri dashed in and jumped straight into our king-sized bed . I was like , " Kurang asam , aku belum rasmi lagi ..." . So there they were , tuan puteri straight away masuk dalam selimut ( it was broad daylight btw ) .

Off we go for lunch , at this nyonya food place in town . Good asam laksa indeed .

But someone did'nt finish her food ... (hint : look at the half full plate)

I've never seen a ghost , but look at this picture down here , theres someone on my shoulder :

Didn't I say it was all about makan ? next up : Pizza !! Melaka Style . Very antique place , the building's got a lot of character . Uneven walls , shades of black and complemented by old wooden furnishings really made it look good .

If I were to report on every single thing we did , I think it 'll be too big . Let's just say one of the highlights was the night we played cards . This dude down here , deserves the title of 'Gambit' for his skills in bluffing and calling other people's bluffs . If you give him 3 cards , he'll give you 6 cards back ! And this man is called Liang :

Yep , that's him . That's his mansion back there , but he forgot to bring the keys , so that's why we're in Emperor Hotel :P

Oh we went to the beach :

I guess that's about it from me . All in all , it was all fun mixed with laughter and mad eating ! Although I did lost few bulu tangans , scratch marks from the Tuan Puteri and Stella , we all went back with good memories .

The End.

You Want A Famous Face ?

Couple of days ago , as I was browsing through the idiot box , I stumbled upon this show on MTV called "I Want A Famous Face" . Basically its about american kids wanting to look like their favourite artist/actor , physically . This dude wanted to look like Ricky Martin ! I was like wtf ?! theres no way anyone can make him look like bloody Ricky Martin . I said to myself "Gila la , this I gotta see .." . The dude went to the plastic surgeon and showed a picture of Ricky Martin to him . The surgeon gave that assuring nod like its not a problem ..mo man tai ... And so the process started .

Ears being cut with precision to match Ricky's ear .. nose being altered , to give it a more latino look . Even the eyebrows were modified . All of this was monitored by the dude's mother . I just don't understand how parents in america condones such unnatural act . Fast forward a couple of months after the surgery and the end result : Not much difference . The dude still looked the same and not even the slightest tint of Ricky Martin was evident on his face . I'm pretty sure a lot money have been spent for that . Oh by the way , the reason why he wanted the 'transformation' was not only bcoz hes a Ricky Martin fan , but because he wanted to confess his love for this girl he has a crush on in school . Pathethic !

Even his siblings were against it . They didnt like the new him , except for the mom . Oh at the end , the girl he had a crush on didnt react when he confessed to her . All the effort , down the drain . Money , down the drain . The surgeon , laughing his ass off on his way to the bank .

The question is , does everything have to be at face value ? Can't we just stop trying to look perfect or someone who looks perfect , looks-wise ? Personally , I don't deny girls with looks do get my attention ..but what I've learned , is that it shouldn't stop there . Based on experience , the pretty ones aren't always nice when you start talking to them . They're usually too worried bout their reputation and too self-concious . What's the use of going out with a drop dead gorgeous chick when she can't even string a couple of words? looking snobbish and all . That's boring . Instead , the ok-looking ones are much more fun to be with . I pity the dude on the show . He really thought that by looking perfect , he could get the girl . I guess he learned it the harsh way .

Hey , looks does play a part . But many do not realise that personality creates a longer-lasting impression . Many hot girls nowadays that I've seen , seem to forget how to have a good personality . They focus too much on how they look . Many like to wrap themselves in drama , listen to suicidal music like the world hates them & bla bla ... just chill !

But I guess thats the way it is in america , land of the free . People would change how they look , just to conform the superficial ideal of a good-looking person . When you're badly scarred from a freak accident , thats a different story , coz youre face is disfigured . But when you have a decent face , thats when its not right . Don't believe everything you see on TV . People don't look like that in real-life . Those who are familiar with Photoshop should know what I'm talking about . Being dark - skinned doesn't mean you're ugly ... like how these whitening ads are preaching us to look fairer . Bullshit! If you're ugly but have a lot of money , you'll still look like Ricky Martin to the eyes of materialistic women . But thats another story .

Have a good weekend . Sayonara .
